Board and Train Programs

Our Board and Train programs provide dogs with a structured learning environment where training is integrated throughout the day. During their stay, dogs receive consistent guidance, daily training sessions, and opportunities to practice new skills in real-world situations.

Each program is tailored to the individual dog and guided by our Think. Engage. Thrive. philosophy—helping dogs learn to think through situations, engage with their handler, and develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive both during training and at home.

Board and Train programs are ideal for owners who want to accelerate their dog’s progress while also receiving the guidance needed to continue building on that foundation once their dog returns home.

Sac River Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles LLC Partnership Program

In partnership with Sac River Goldendoodles & Bernedoodles LLC, clients receive priority access to our Board & Train programs at Absolute Kennels LLC. This partnership was created to give puppies and young dogs a stronger start through structure, clarity, and real-life development.

Program Access & Guidelines

All partnership dogs are enrolled in a mandatory 2-week minimum program. Because every dog is an individual, additional time may be recommended based on behavior, maturity, goals, and overall development to support the best long-term outcome.

Final Step in Board and Train Programs

A final session to teach you your dog’s new skills and how to keep the progress going at home.

Training Programs

Foundation Training

Ideal for:
Young dogs or dogs that need structure and basic manners.

This program focuses on establishing the essential building blocks every dog needs to succeed. Dogs learn foundational behaviors such as engagement with the handler, leash manners, impulse control, and basic obedience skills.

The goal of foundation training is to create clarity, structure, and communication, helping dogs develop good habits that carry into everyday life.

Common focuses may include:

• leash manners
• sit, down, and place
• engagement and focus
• impulse control
• structured routines

Behavior and Real-World Life Skills

Ideal for:
Dogs struggling with manners, distractions, or common behavior challenges.

This program focuses on helping dogs develop better decision-making and reliability in everyday situations. Through structured training sessions and guided exposure to real-world environments, dogs learn how to respond calmly and confidently to distractions.

Training often addresses:

• pulling on leash
• overexcitement
• lack of focus around distractions
• jumping and poor manners
• difficulty settling

The focus is on helping dogs learn how to think through situations and respond to guidance rather than reacting impulsively.

Advanced Engagement and Performance

Ideal for:
Dogs ready to deepen their engagement, responsiveness, and working relationship with their handler.

This program builds on foundational skills and focuses on developing stronger engagement, reliability, and communication between dog and handler. Training may include more advanced obedience, engagement work, and skill development suited to the dog’s abilities and goals.

Areas of focus may include:

• advanced obedience
• engagement development
• off-leash reliability
• focus in distracting environments
• handler communication

Owner Integration and Transition Program

Ideal for:
Owners who want to fully understand their dog’s training and confidently continue progress at home.

Training does not end when a dog leaves a program. The most important step in lasting success is helping owners understand how to communicate with their dog and maintain the structure that was established during training.

Our Owner Integration & Transition program focuses on guiding owners through the final stage of the training process. During this phase, we work directly with the owner to demonstrate the dog’s new skills, explain how they were developed, and teach the owner how to apply those skills consistently at home.

This stage is where the Think. Engage. Thrive. philosophy becomes fully realized.

Dogs have learned to think through situations, developed meaningful engagement with their handler, and now both dog and owner are equipped to thrive together beyond the training environment.

This program may include:

• owner coaching sessions
• guided handoff training
• real-world practice with the owner present
• troubleshooting and communication guidance
• transition planning for home life

The goal is to ensure the training does not remain only at the kennel but continues to grow through the partnership between dog and owner.

Program Investment

Every dog is different, and the length of training depends on the goals of the owner and the needs of the dog.

Board & Train programs typically range from 2–4 weeks.

Investment begins at $850 per week.

During an initial consultation, we will discuss your dog’s needs and recommend the program length that will provide the best results.
