Are Your Trainers Certified?
Yes — I earned my certification through the Council of Certified Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) in 2023. I am also recognized as an AKC Canine Good Citizen, S.T.A.R. Puppy, and Trick Dog Evaluator. Combined with more than 20 years of hands-on experience training dogs to high levels of competition, these credentials give me a wide range of proven tools and resources to help every dog succeed.
To stay at the forefront of modern training methods, I regularly attend professional seminars and workshops and earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs), ensuring that I bring the most up-to-date knowledge and techniques to every dog and owner I work with.
What will my dog learn in training at Absolute Kennels?
At Absolute Kennels, dogs learn more than just commands. From basic manners and leash walking to confidence building, behavior modification, and even advanced training, we focus on skills that create calm, well-rounded dogs — and happy owners.
What if my dog doesn't get along well with other dogs?
At Absolute Kennels, every dog is family. No matter their age, ability, or unique needs, we make sure they’re included, cared for, and celebrated. Their day might look a little different, but their hearts are always part of the fun.
What vaccinations does my dog need?
In accordance with state licensing, all dogs must be up to date on the following vaccines at the time of their stay or training service:
Rabies
DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
Bordetella – must be given within the last 6 months
Heartworm Prevention – Recommend not Required
Flea/Tick Prevention – Recommended not Required, but will be treated at owners expense if found.

At Absolute Kennels, every training plan is custom-built for your dog and your lifestyle. We take into account their age, temperament, and learning style, as well as your goals as an owner. This personalized approach ensures that training is not only effective, but also practical and sustainable at home.

Absolute Kennels is located in Nevada, Missouri, and proudly serves dog owners throughout Vernon County and the surrounding region.
Many of our clients travel to us for our small-group care and structured training programs. We regularly work with dogs from:

Do people travel outside of Nevada for Boarding and Training?
Yes. Many of our Boarding and Training clients travel one to two hours for our structured programs and small-group environment.
Because we keep our numbers intentionally limited, dogs receive individualized attention and consistent training sessions rather than rotating through large daycare-style environments.
For owners who want thoughtful training and lasting results, the drive is often well worth it.
